Comtech Telecommunications Corp. Receives $7.8 Million in Initial
Funding against a $10.4 Million Blue Force Tracking Contract for
Its Mobile Satellite Data Communications Transceivers
MELVILLE, N.Y., Jul 09, 2007 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Comtech Telecommunications
Corp. (NASDAQ:CMTL) announced today that its Maryland-based subsidiary,
Comtech Mobile Datacom Corporation, received a letter contract
with a not-to-exceed ceiling value of $10.4 million for the latest
version of its model MT-2011 mobile satellite data communications
transceivers. Initial funding was set at $7.8 million, or 75%
of the ceiling, based on Comtech's submission of a qualified proposal.
The contract is expected to be definitized and funded to its final
negotiated ceiling prior to July 31, 2007.
Under the contract with the U.S. Army Communications Electronics
Command (CECOM), Comtech will supply its Model MT-2011F Mobile
Satellite Data Transceivers to the Force XXI Battle Command Brigade
and Below - Blue Force Tracking (FBCB2-BFT) program, a battle
command real-time situational awareness and control system. As
previously announced, Comtech is also working with this customer
in finalizing a five-year IDIQ contract.
