Comtech Telecommunications Corp. Receives $8.7 Million of Movement
Tracking System Orders
MELVILLE, N.Y., Apr 10, 2008 (PrimeNewswire via COMTEX News
Network) -- Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (Nasdaq:CMTL) announced
today that its Maryland-based subsidiary, Comtech Mobile Datacom
Corporation, received orders totaling $8.7 million under its Movement
Tracking System, or MTS, contract with the U.S. Army. Total orders
received to date against the $605.1 million MTS contract increased
to $84.9 million.
The orders are for the supply of MTS systems, which feature Comtech's
Model MT-2012 mobile satellite transceivers integrated with both
ruggedized and control station computers, engineering and technical
support to provide upgrades and enhancements to the MTS network,
installation kits, program management, miscellaneous hardware,
and technical services to support ongoing MTS program operations
in the United States and abroad. Comtech's Model MT-2012 transceiver
features Savi Technology's ISO-compliant EchoPoint RFID Reader,
as well as secure Global Positioning System (GPS) capabilities.
