MELVILLE, N.Y.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– April 25, 2016–Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (Nasdaq:CMTL) announced today that its government solutions segment received notice that the U.S. Army exercised Option Year 2 of the Company’s three-year Blue-Force Tracking (“BFT-1″) sustainment contract and related BFT-1 Intellectual Property license agreement and that it has been awarded initial funding totaling $20.0 million to continue to provide sustainment support for the U.S. Army, Program Executive Office Command, Control, Communications-Tactical (PEO-C3T), Joint Battle Command-Platform (JBC-P) BFT-1 Mission, a battle command real-time situational awareness and control system.

The $20.0 million in funding for Option Year 2 includes $10.0 million for the U.S. Army to continue to license certain of the Company’s BFT-1 Intellectual Property, with the remaining funding designated for engineering services and satellite network operations for which Comtech is paid on a cost-plus-fixed-fee basis and program management services for which Comtech is paid on a firm-fixed-price basis. The Option Year 2 performance period began April 1, 2016 and ends March 31, 2017. The Company expects to receive additional funded orders for Option Year 2.

Comtech Awarded Contracts to Continue Support of the Blue Force Tracking Program

MELVILLE, N.Y.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– April 14, 2014–Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (Nasdaq:CMTL) announced today that its Maryland-based subsidiary, Comtech Mobile Datacom Corporation, has been awarded a three-year contract to continue to provide sustainment support for the U.S. Army’s Force XXI Battle Command Brigade and Below – Blue Force Tracking (“BFT-1″) program, a battle command real-time situational awareness and control system. In addition, the U.S. Army agreed to continue to license certain of Comtech’s intellectual property (“IP”) pursuant to a separate contract.

Under the new three-year BFT-1 sustainment contract, which has a not-to-exceed value of $38.2 million, Comtech will provide engineering services and satellite network operations on a cost-plus-fixed-fee basis and program management services on a firm-fixed-price basis. The base performance period begins April 1, 2014 and ends March 31, 2015, and the contract provides for two twelve-month option periods exercisable by the U.S. Army. The total estimated value of the base year is $13.6 million.

Comtech also entered into a new BFT-1 IP contract with a potential value of $30.0 million which enables the U.S. Army to continue to license certain of Comtech’s IP. The contract requires a $10.0 million annual license fee for a base period beginning April 1, 2014 and ending March 31, 2015 with two twelve-month option periods exercisable by the U.S. Army. If the U.S. Army exercises the two option periods and pays an aggregate of $30.0 million of annual license fees, the U.S. Army will receive a limited non-exclusive right to use Comtech’s IP after March 31, 2017 for no additional IP license fee.

The U.S. Army has placed initial funded orders of $12.5 million (including the $10.0 million annual IP license fee for the base period) under these contracts and Comtech expects to receive additional funded orders during the base year. The U.S. Army and Comtech are continuing to negotiate certain terms related to these contract awards.

Comtech Telecommunications Corp. Announces Subsidiary Management Changes

Larry Konopelko, President of Comtech PST Corp., will be retiring effective January 31, 2014. Larry joined Comtech PST in 2001, as General Manager, and was promoted to President in 2002. Larry has successfully led Comtech PST during an exciting period and has been instrumental in establishing the business as the leader it is today in the high-power, broadband solid-state amplifier market.

Michael Hrybenko will be taking over as President of Comtech PST upon Larry’s retirement. Michael is currently the Vice President of Engineering at Comtech PST. Comtech Telecommunications Corp. Receives $16.4 Million of Movement Tracking System Orders

MELVILLE, N.Y., Mar 11, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) — Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (NASDAQ:CMTL) announced today that its Maryland-based subsidiary, Comtech Mobile Datacom Corporation, received orders totaling $16.4 million under its Movement Tracking System, or MTS contract, with the U.S. Army. Total orders received to date against the $605.1 million MTS contract increased to $76.1 million.

The orders are for the supply of MTS systems which feature Comtech’s Model MT-2012 mobile satellite transceivers integrated with both ruggedized and control station computers, miscellaneous hardware, installation kits, program management, and technical support services. Comtech’s Model MT-2012 transceiver features Savi Technology’s ISO-compliant EchoPoint RFID Reader, as well as secure Global Positioning System (GPS) capabilities.

The orders will support ongoing MTS program activities in the United States and abroad, as well as support the National Guard Bureau’s (NGB’s) United States Homeland Defense initiatives. The NGB directly funded $5.2 million of the $16.4 million in total orders placed under the MTS contract.
