Asset Tracking & M2M SCADA

Trailer Tracking
Fleet managers face the constant challenge of operating logistics. They need to know where each tractor and trailer is at all times. Trailers are often “lost” at customer sites and drivers may stray from the prescribed route and schedule. Tractors and trailers need to be paired as efficiently as possibly.

The AXTracker, a self-contained tracking device, can provide an owner/operator with location and event information which allows the company to reduce the tractor to trailer ratio and eliminate time spent trying to locate lost or stolen trailers. The easy installation and zero-maintenance AXTracker is a low cost, turn-key solution to fleet management.

The compact rugged enclosure attaches easily to the top of a cargo container, railcar or trailer. Features like motion detection, under-utilized asset notification, and geofencing enable the fleet manager to run more efficiently and ultimately cut operating cost. Status, location, and event information transmitted via SENS Data Service provides the fleet manager with the information necessary to optimize logistics even in remote areas that are not covered by traditional modes of communication.

Container Tracking
Containerized transport is complex, involving a large number of hand-offs and interactions between the manufacturer, shipping line, ports, marine vessels, dray operators, and other members of the transport chain. An estimated $23 billion was lost to in-transit theft in 2005 and container traffic is expected to increase at a rate of approximately 10% annually. Additionally, cargo containers remain a target for terrorist activities.

End-users and shippers require electronic tracking to provide an audit trail to identify when and where the supply chain fails. A SENS Data Service enabled tracking solution can improve container security and reduce loss and terrorism. CMDC offers two solutions, one permanent and one removable. The first solution consists of a tracking device mounted on the container. The second is a removable container seal. Both can be combined with a variety of sensors and RFID to provide a complete supply chain visibility.

High Value Shipment Solutions
High Value Shipments have special needs. Location and status of the shipment is critical at all times. Problem indicator parameters, such as motion, or geofencing become important tools in preventing theft.

Oil & Gas Solutions
The Oil & Gas industry is dependent on the uninterrupted operation of critical machinery for production. Equipment failures or malfunctions can result in significant revenue losses. In this industry, it is necessary to know the current status of equipment and identify problems as they occur. Traditionally, status checks have been conducted by periodically sending field operators to verify the status of each site. This method has proven costly and inefficient.

CMDC VARS offer a remote monitoring solution comprised of the Messenger and SENS data communications. The Messenger can be used for flow measurement, tank level monitoring, compressor monitoring, and remote equipment monitoring. Users receive alert messages via email or voice when predetermined parameters are violated. The near real time notification allows operators to quickly identify and rectify problems and efficiently reduce equipment downtime and resulting revenue losses.

Infrastructure Solutions
Protecting national infrastructure has become an increasing concern in recent years. It is critical to prevent and contain acts of terrorism on a national, state, and local level.

Remote monitoring of pipelines, power stations, and water resources has become a necessity. SENS Data communications is an efficient means to monitor infrastructure status through multiple remote sensor readings.

Military Solutions
The SENS Data Service is ideally suited for transmitting data from remote sensors. The low power consumption of CMDC satellite transmitters allows sensors to remain in place, maintenance-free for years.

The SENS system's satellite communications can't be cut or tampered with and are highly jam resistant. The small size of the transmitter and the simple serial interface makes it easy to integrate with sensor hardware.

SENS Data Services can be used to monitor doors on remote facilities, track precious shipments, or report back data from unattended ground sensors.

Government Solutions
SENS Data transmitters can be combined with virtually any type of sensor, including GPS and RFID. This flexibility makes SENS Data Service an ideal enabling technology for many national security applications. From borders and ports to disaster preparedness and first response, SENS Data Service can provide event notification and situational awareness information in areas where terrestrial networks are either damaged or nonexistent.
